杨平教授，美国德克萨斯A&M大学博士生导师，大气科学领域杰出学者。1995年毕业于犹他大学，取得气象学博士学位。杨平教授先后担任多个国际知名科研杂志编委，包括Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy & Radiative Transfer, Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology, Theoretical and Applied Climatology；曾多年担任环境主题会议-高光谱成像与探测(Hyperspectral Imaging and Sounding of Environment Topical Meeting)项目委员会主席。杨平教授获得多项荣誉奖励，包括德克萨斯A&M大学教学成果奖(Teaching Award)、美国国家科学基金杰出科学家奖(CAREER Award)、美国航空航天管理局团体奖及最佳论文奖等。
